Hi Maangchi !!! i have a question for you, if i can’t get the frozen rice
flour on the store, can i put the regular rice flour on the fridge?

Nadiah Zakaria says:

I did it yesterday…but then after it finished I realized that I’m not
using plain rice flour but glutinous rice flour…

fknhipsters says:

I bet they are as delicious as they are cute

theuglykwan says:

Questions: 1) Why is that rice flour frozen? Is it to increase shelf life?
2) Did you make sure they don’t use chemicals on their pine trees? XD It
was very interesting to see the difference with Korean rice cakes and
Chinese and Japanese mochi. 🙂

theuglykwan says:

Can probably buy it online, Japanese people use it in recipes too.

미란 이 says:

반죽에 물을 조금 더 넣으세요! 그럼 더 쫄깃할거에요^^

Lydia Lee says:

Can i add more water when the rich flour cant stick together?

Kathy Nguyen says:

Can I use Vietnamese glutinous rice flour or viet clear wet rice rolls
flour???

Maangchi says:

I’m glad to hear that your boss brought this rice cake for you and your
coworkers. You must have enjoyed it a lot so you came to YouTube to find
this.

A Dionisio says:

Love this! My boss who is Korean, brought in a plate full of Rice cake for
all the work mates to eat. It was my first time tasting this and OMG It was
soooo nice!

fluffybunnyness says:

Why do you steam it with the pine needles?

Adrian Stępień says:

Hi ^^ I lives in Poland and i don’t know what is mugwort powder, so i don’t
know where i can buy this :<

Adrian Stępień says:

Thank You <3

Maangchi says:

You can use a little bit of green tea powder instead of mugwort powder.
It’s sold at Korean grocery stores.

TaeWook Kwon says:

잘들지내시죠? 오늘은 일찍 들어가 애들과 송편이나 만들어야겠다.

dbskflh says:

so its chuseok in korea right now!!!

Maangchi says:

yes, you can. btw, for songpyeon, you need short grain rice flour. Sweet
rice flour (glutinous rice flour) will be too sticky if you make this rice
cake. Check out how to make rice flour on my website. When you visit my
website, you will see a search box. Type out “short grain rice flour”, then
it will lead to the recipe that I posted. Good luck with making delicious
songpyeon.

Drachenkuss0 says:

ok because I got 2 thumbs up, for all germans here: Boiling water bedeutet
einfach kochendes Wasser xD Einfacher als es sich anhört!

Our Homestead Dream says:

Can you make your own rice flour? All I have is sweet rice flour right now
but I do have a coffee grinder that could work to make my own

Sanguanboon says:

You are making me want to watch Dae Jang Geum series again.

bangz2388 says:

it right? haha! 🙂

alwaysdjl says:

coraline143 says:

maangchi u look amazing in your hanbok lol 😀

lastand09 says:

@AprilFool369 You must soak the glutinous rice (short grain aka “sticky
rice) overnight in cool water, and then grind it finely into a fine powder
the next day.

Nara Gladden says:

If I can’t find frozen rice flour, then can I just freeze a bag of rice
flour?

npaujvaj says:

I WENT ONLINE TO RESEARCH AND IT’S ACTUALLY SONGPYEON BUT MADE WITH THE
SESAME HONEY FILLING. CAN U PROVIDE THE RECIPE FOR THE SESAME HONEY
FILLING? DO WE HAVE TO ACTUALLY STEAM THE SONGPYEON WITH PINE NEEDLES OR
CAN WE OMIT THAT?

Maangchi says:

Yes, I will post the recipe someday.

getawayfrom says:

I love watching Korean dramas and seeing the foods on the show is soo

Maangchi says:

Maangchi says:

@NewClassicPYT yes, without pine needles, the rice cake will still be
delicious! : )

thesixthprincess says:
